Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.
“Cyclists spend big money in city.” I see you’re still pushing that propaganda. Daily News must be bought and paid for, and … in the back pockets of the tourism department, the harbor district, downtown, whatever the case may be. Cyclists spend big in city. I don’t care, don’t like them. And I’m not the only one. There’s a real anti-cyclist fever, I felt last time. Maybe you should do a report on that.
Editor’s note: The story about the cyclists spending money was a report on a study presented to the City Council, whose meetings the Daily News covers.
Now is a good time for the county commissioners to disband the Beaufort County Committee of 100. The only claim to fame that this organization has, that I can see, is the Miracle Mile. I’ve traveled the Miracle Mile several times a month, and I’ve never seen yet anything that’s a miracle about it. I’m assuming that this was Mr. Thompson’s baby doll. So, when he leaves, this organization should be disbanded.
Editor’s note: The Committee of 100 is a private, nonprofit organization that is not under the auspices of the commissioners.
