WASHINGTON — Mr. James Tucker Boyd, 92, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville.
Mr. Boyd, a native of Pitt County, had lived in Newport News, Virginia for a number of years. He was employed with shipyards in Wilmington, Delaware and Newport News, Virginia and worked for a time with Hackney and Sons in Washington. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Pactolus Baptist Church.
Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by a son, James K. “Bud” Boyd, and is survived by: wife of 68 years - Sallie Toler Boyd; daughters - Jane Boyd Alligood and husband, Harold, of Huntersville, NC, Verna Gay Damouth, and husband, Bob, of Washington, NC;
son - Eric Paul Boyd and wife, Sandra, of Washington, NC; sisters - Gladys Hardee of Greenville, Reather Collins of Harriman, TN; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
