Incorporate V-Chip in e-books

To the Editor:

Jim Keen did a great job in his article on e-books. When television first came into our homes and then grew and matured to what we take for granted, no one thought of rating the content, or v-chips to allow parents to control the media for children’s choices.

To me it seems best to incorporate the V-Chip technology immediately for Kindle, Nookbooks and iPad devices before the devices can access very graphic material we parents would not want our children or grandchildren to have and to hold and to view.

The e-book market may be growing like mad, but the industry and the consumer need to identify the possibilities that ought not to be available to children.
