Joretta Devinney Ball, 81 of Swansboro, passed away peacefully on Monday July 23, 2012 with her family at her side. She was a graduate of Mars Hill College. She was a devoted wife and mother but still had time to serve her community. She was a former Rotarian, former chairman of the Democratic Party in Pitt County, former chairman of the Greenville Utility Commission, member of the Pitt County Board of Social Services, and a member of the League of Women Voters.
Her memory will be cherished by those who love her including her husband, Dr. John Richard Ball; her daughter, Lynne Ball Chamblee and husband David; granddaughter, Michelle Dalby and husband Scott and great grandchildren Alan and Katlyn Dalby; a brother, Nick Devinney and wife Mable and their children Alan and Celia; Brother in law, Douglas Ball and wife Naomi; and a sister in law, Sarah White and husband Gerald.
A private Family Memorial Service will be held.
