Mr. Lonnie D. Hedrick Sr.

Mr. Lonnie Dale Hedrick Sr., age 67, a resident of 109 Eden Drive, Washington, N.C., died Sunday evening, May 8, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Hedrick was born Aug. 27, 1943, son of the late Marvin William Hedrick and Ruth Inez Davis Hedrick. He graduated high school to then serve his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed 28 years at National Spinning as VP of Operations. He then went into the ministry and went to Duke University Divinity School. He then becomes the pastor at Holly Springs United Methodist Church in Williamston. Mr. Hedrick enjoyed golf, walked everyday, and had a passion for the “Stop Hunger Now” Organization.
On Feb. 2, 1963, he married the former Claudette Miller who survives.
In addition to his wife, Claudette of the home, he is survived by two sons: Gregory Alan Hedrick and his wife Leigh, of Arden, N.C. and their three sons, Gregory Jr., Logan and Alexander; Lonnie Dale Hedrick Jr., and his wife Tracey of Apex, N.C. and their two children, Alicia and Trevor; and his daughter: Claudine Hedrick Foss and husband Michael of Warsaw, N.C. and their three children, Dillon Southerland, Katherine and Christina Foss. He is also survived by his two brothers: Jeffery Lowell Hedrick and his wife Anne of Lexington, N.C. and George Allen Hedrick, and his children Mark Hedrick and Carla Little; his niece, Janet Reep Morgan and two nephews, Kelly and Marty Reep.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Washington officiated by Reverend Danny Allen and Beth H. Hood. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Walter Manning, Jimmy Hardison, Dale Redman, Mike Manning, Ronnie Manning and Phil Manning will serve as pallbearers. Jesse Cowan, Charles Haddock, Neal Brown and Mitchell Jones will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home located at 109 N. Eden Drive, Smallwood, Washington, N.C.
