Mr. Henry Peed of 50 Yonkers Drive, Washington, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Word of Life Worship Center, 318 Pierce St., Washington, with the Rev. Carlton Keys officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Peed was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 27, 1918. He was the son of the late Henry and Willie Smallwood Peed. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. He served honorably in the Army. He was married to Arissia Harding Peed, who survives. He was a member of Mary’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Gloria Tripp, Shelia Carraway and Laurie Neals, all of Washington, Joyce Harding of Jamaica, N.Y., Caroline Cordon of Avon and Joyce Fullilove; two sons, Henry L. Peed of Winterville, and Cecil E. Peed of Washington; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three children, Marvin, Llewellyn and Deneen and his siblings, Ruth Tyre, Elizabeth Fuller, Winnie Peed and Ben Peed.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington; at the home of his son, Cecil Peed, 3300 River Road, Washington, and at the home.
