Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.
I have just read Gene Lyons’ column. We’re living in the last days before Jesus comes to take his saved believers to heaven. If you will read in your Bible the chapter of Matthew 24, you will understand. Drought is not mentioned but famine is, and pestilence which is evil, trials, worry, disease and torment and so forth. Friends get ready and pray for our country. We’re living in the latter days.
I am saddened by Saturday’s Sound Off about the Democratic Party. Why should God have mercy on them? Jesus preached love. God is about love. Jesus is love. He wouldn’t want intolerance and hatred. If meaning I don’t mind gay marriage, I’m going to go to hell, well, I guess I’d rather go to hell than go to heaven with these people that are against gay marriage, against gay people, so intolerant, so filled with hatred. Just want to get my two cents in.
Here we go again. The darn beavers are flooding Washington. Bunch of nonsense. Yes, beavers make a dam. Yes, they can cause flooding. At least they’re doing what’s coming natural. Human beings are overpopulating, overcivilization — too many neighborhoods, too many people, too many houses. The drainage won’t work because it’s the people’s fault, not the beavers’ fault. But go ahead and make yourself feel good. Go kill a few beavers and pat yourself on the back and say, “I killed some of them nasty old beavers.”
