Anthony “Tony” Lotta

Anthony “Tony” Lotta, age 75, formerly of Hamilton, Ohio, and a resident of Washington, N.C., since 1988, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012. Tony was born in Hamilton, on August 11, 1936, the son of Anthony and Nina (Palermo) Lotta. For many years, he was a teacher in the Norwood Ohio Public Schools. After his retirement, Tony was an instructor at a junior college in Washington, N.C. He volunteered many hours with the Meals on Wheels Program, North Carolina Estuarium and time and talent at Mother of Mercy Church. Tony loved musical arts and shared his interests with others.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Jill Lotta; brother-in-law, Phil Altieri; many nieces, nephews, other family members and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Lotta; three sisters, Ann (Art) Lingler, Rose Altieri and Marie (Joe) Lawler and his partner, Ray Reece.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass 10:00 AM Monday, August 13, 2012, at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held in North Carolina at a later date.
