Mr. David Rhodes Rogerson, 78, of 1611 David Rogerson Road, Williamston, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Martin General Hospital, Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Macedonia Christian Church with the Rev. Dallas Gurganus and Dolan Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Rogerson was born in Martin County on Dec. 22, 1927. He was the son of the late Alonza Rogerson and Martha Virginia Revels Rogerson. On Sept. 2, 1950, he married Polly Peele Rogerson. She died Aug. 13, 1993. On Nov. 6, 1995, he married Ruth W. Rogerson. She survives. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Macedonia Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha Brown Lilley and husband Eason of Williamston; one son, Vann Rogerson and wife Peggy Price of Williamston; one stepdaughter, Alice Warren and husband Gerald of Williamston; three stepsons, Ernest W. Martin and wife Donna of Arden, Eddie Martin and wife Terrie of Ayden and Tim Martin and wife Deena of Greenville; three grandchildren, Joanna Rogerson, Bradley Rogerson and John David Lilley; five stepgrandchildren, Shelli Joyner, Tonya Peele, Stephanie Martin, Wade Martin and Scott Martin; and sister-in-law, Josephine Rodgers of Williamston.
Arrangements are by Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston.
