Mr. Leonardo S. Trafton, 55, of 1550 Jones White Road, Roper, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Washington County Hospital, Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted today at 1 p.m. in Mount Eprew Baptist Church, Roper, with the Rev. James Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Memorial Garden, Roper.
Mr. Trafton was born in Washington County on June 15, 1951. He was the son of the late Leroy and Hilma Norman Trafton. He had worked as a machine operator at the Naval Shipyard in Newport News, Va.. He was a member of Mt. Eprew Baptist church and a Washington County Union alumni.
Survivors include two children, Rosetta Skinner of Roper, and Marion Trafton of Jacksonville, and three grandchildren; nine brothers, William Hunt, Johnny Trafton and Henry Trafton, all of Bronx, N.Y., Delantry Trafton of Syracuse, N.Y., Richard Barnes and Randolph Trafton, both of New York, N.Y., Matthew Barnes and Phillip Barnes, both of Greenville, and Clyde Barnes of Plymouth; and two sisters, Mary Barnes of Norfolk, Va., and Florida Trafton of New York, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by six siblings, Larry Trafton, James Trafton, Keith Derrick Trafton, Tias Trafton, Martha Watson and Mamie Lee Barnes.
Arrangements are by Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
