Bright faces multiple charges

On Sunday at approximately 6:52 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report that man was driving with a revoked license and using drugs in a red truck at the ferry dock in Bath.
Deputy Toby Woolard responded to the area and located the suspect in a red truck leaving the parking lot of the ferry. Woolard performed a traffic stop and identified the driver. The driver was arrested on a charge of driving while license revoked, and a search of the truck was conducted. During the search, Woolard located 20 pills believed to be Oxycodone.
The driver, George Travis Bright, 24, of Point Avenue, Belhaven, was transported to the magistrates’ office and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle to keep and sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and DWLR. Bright was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,300 secured bond.
