AULANDER, — Mrs. Helen Morris Leggett, 73, of 808 Charles Taylor Road, Aulander, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Hoggard Memorial Cemetery, Lewiston-Woodville, with the Revs. Wallace Phillips and Anthony Cherry officiating.
Mrs. Leggett was born in Bertie County on July 1, 1933. She was the daughter of the late W. Hosea and Mildred Peele Morris. She was married to Raymond Leggett, who survives. She delivered both the News and Observer and Virginian Pilot for 10 years.
Survivors include one brother, Zobie Morris of Martinez, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Raye Ann Sammon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
