Mary Little Clark

Ms. Mary L. Clark, 91, a former resident of Duck Creek Rd., Washington, N.C., died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 20, 2011, at River Trace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Washington. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington.
Ms. Clark was born on Dec. 11, 1919, in Siler City, N.C., the daughter of the late James Albert and Lossie Welch Brown. She was a resident of Washington for many years, having worked as a seamstress at Sampson Shirt Factory for 35 years. Ms. Clark also worked as a Civil Service employee during WWII. She was a past member of Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ in Washington, the Washington Garden Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars. She later lived in Frankston, Texas, for 35 years prior to returning to Washington.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry W. Little of Washington, N.C., and Floyd Little of Greenville, N.C.; daughter, Lossie J. Nixon of Suffolk, Va.; sister, Lois McGee of Turkey, N.C.; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert D. Little; daughter, LeAnn Cook; and son, Jimmy Little.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fla. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
