Mr. Robert P. Ayers Jr., 49, of 302 Crepe Myrtle Lane, Washington, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Oakdale Cemetery with pastor Phillip Jethro officiating.
Mr. Ayers was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 8, 1958. He was the son of Robert P. Ayers Sr. and Flora Bullock Ayers. He was married to the former Karen Alligood, who survives. He was a truck driver. He was a member of Alligood Church of God.
Survivors include one daughter, Robin Lynn Ayers of Pamlico Beach; one son, Michael Wayne Ayers of Pamlico Beach; four stepchildren, Sherry Huynh, Carl Huynh and Donald Ray Harrison, all of Washington, and Rhonda Harrison; one sister, Betty Ayers Radcliffe of Pinetown; one brother, Bobbie Lee Ayers of Washington, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Allen Ayers and Johnny Ray Ayers.
