I was just reading this article in the paper about voting. It don’t seem like it’s anybody’s business whether I vote or not. If I want to vote, I’ll vote. If I don’t, I don’t. And if I don’t, it doesn’t matter to nobody but me. It’s nobody else’s business. They can mind their own business.

What in the world has the city officials been drinking? They want to throw another $150,000 of our taxpayers’ money into a pit that already holds $600,000 of our taxpayer’s money, for what end? Is there a return on investment? If it can increase traffic downtown is your answer, wrong. What does it do for the average citizen of Washington? What do we gain by owning the Turnage? Think about it.

Perhaps the City of Washington could get a few more visitors if the tourism signs on northbound U.S. Highway 17 south of Chocowinity were more-easily understood. They might be cute, but hard to figure out at 55 mph.

Loved your cartoon this morning. The icing on the cake was confirmation by the column by Gene Lyons, who is a complete idiot.

Has the Washington Daily News ever printed a column by Gene Lyons in which he is truthful?

Yes, I just want to say I wish they’d leave the time — don’t change it, is what I’m trying to say. It’s ridiculous to change it. It messes everything up for everybody. It was good enough in the 60s and 70s when we were at the school, then it’s good enough for the people now in 2000s. Please, congressmen, senators, whoever, don’t do this no more. Bye.
