I support Carolyn Harding’s comments about the proposed 5-percent cut in the residential electric rate for Washington Electric Utilities customers in the city.

We need the ferry toll, and we need an athletic fee for children to play ball.

It just blows my mind that our government thinks it is a good idea to cut spending for schools. It seems that we are going to become a nation of illiterates.

Why is our economy in such a fix? The bumper sticker I read the other day sheds a lot of light on the problem. It says, “Work harder. Millions of people on welfare are depending on you.”
