Waverly Welch Williams

Waverly Welch Williams, 79, of Windsor, passed away November 12, 2012, at Vidant Health Inpatient Hospice surrounded by his family.
He was born in Clements, MD to the late Jack and Helen Williams. He lived most of his life in Plymouth and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Waverly served in the Merchant Marines and was self-employed as a small engine mechanic. He will be missed for his joking personality and the great love he had for his family. Waverly enjoyed going to his shop and having his friends stop by to chat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth Williams and sisters, Doris Price and Pat Hart.
Waverly is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Nora Williams; daughter, Patti Jordan and husband, Lloyd of Greenville; grandson, Trey Jordan and wife, Jessie of Greenville; sister, Shirley Rentz of Plymouth; and his best buddy, his dog Cooper. Waverly is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Plymouth. Visitation will follow the service.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the nurses and other healthcare providers on 2 North, the caring staff at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice, all of Waverly’s friends who visited him over the last three weeks, and to Minister Jimmy Hagwood.
