Mr. Vincent Darnell Pitt, 51, of 229 Chestnut St., Plymouth, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Washington County Hospital, Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in New Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Harry Lee White Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Lee Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mr. Pitt was born in Plymouth on April 26, 1956. He was the son of Lindberg Pitt of Plymouth and the late Bertha Moore Pitt. He worked as a machine operator at Weyerhaeuser Co. He was a member of the Railroad Raiders softball team.
Survivors include three sons, Antwon Johnson of Detroit, Mich., and Terrance Jackson and Terrez Brooks, both of Plymouth; three grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Pitt of Columbia, S.C., and Ricky Pitt and Ray Pitt, both of Plymouth; and five sisters, Brenda Downing, Shelia Gilliam and Helene Walker, all of Plymouth, and Mickey and Joann, both of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Tony Moore and one sister, Katherine Walker.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
