Doris Ayers Minch Strickland

Mrs. Doris Ayers Minch Strickland, 85, of Greenville, died Monday, November 26, 2012.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in Pinewood Memorial Park with the Rev. Jeff Manning, officiating.

Mrs. Strickland, a native of Martin County, lived most of her life in Greenville. She had attended Grace Church early in her life and was currently attending Unity Free Will Baptist Church. She personified the Proverbs 31 woman, who was truly a keeper of her home. She had a sweet spirit and calm disposition, reflecting her daily relationship with Jesus Christ her Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma Jackson Ayers; husbands, George K. Minch in 1984 and Lester G. Strickland in 2009.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Minch and wife, Sandra, of Greenville and Timothy Minch and wife, Cathy, of New Bern; daughter, Cynthia Minch Mills and husband, Greg, of Greenville; grandchildren, Kendra Minch Davenport and husband, Daniel, of Richlands, and Joshua Gregory Mills, of Greenville; great-grandson, Noah Daniel Davenport; sister, Edna Ayers Brooks, of Greenville.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Cynthia and Greg Mills.
