Mrs. JoLinda Ward Gorham of 76 Whootentown Road, Washington, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Beaufort County Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2011, at Temple of Jesus Christ United. Burial will follow in Whootentown Cemetery.
Mrs. Gorham was born October 29, 1936, to the late William and Addie Fleming Ward in Pitt County. She attended Pitt County schools and was married to James E. Gorham Sr. She was a member of Temple Jesus Christ United, where she faithfully served on the ministerial staff, Sick Committee, Women’s Fellowship, nursing home ministry and Pastor’s Aide Committee.
Survivors: her husband, James E. Gorham Sr.; two daughters, Wilsonia “Evet” Gorham of Greenville, N.C., and Toshia G. Oden of Washington, N.C.; three sons, Tyrone D. Gorham of Conyers, Ga., Kenneth D. Gorham of Greensboro, N.C., and Deyon J. Gorham of Greenville, N.C. A son, James E. Gorham Jr. preceded her in death; three sisters, Alice Brown and Claritha Barnes, both of Greenville, N.C., and Maggie Garett of Washington D.C.; two brothers, Curtis  Ward and Jerald Ward, both of Greenville. N.C.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at L.R. Randolph Memorial Chapel and other times at the home.
