The Washington harbor district is dressed for the season with festive lights and traditional wreaths. Area merchants and community organizations felt Festival Park should also look the part and began a grassroots effort to decorate the bandstand pavilion. Small donations were made by area merchants and funds were matched by Washington Harbor District Alliance (WHDA) to purchase the decorations and to decorate. Donations by WHDA, Washington Area Historic Foundation, Washington–Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce, Pamlico House Bed & Breakfast, My Poodle’s Porch, Coldwell Banker Coastal Rivers Realty, IBX Artisans’ Center, Bloom Women’s Apparel, Rich Company, Little Shoppes of Washington, The General’s Store, Greg Ward Photography, Century 21 Real Estate, Zaitona Restaurant and Beth and Bobby Byrd, made the Festival Park decorations possible.
