BCSO, Community Corrections drug bust

A Chocowinity man was arrested by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit investigators and Department of Community Corrections officers last week, after a search of the man’s residence, according to a press release from the drug unit.
Investigators seized heroin, marijuana and Xanax from the residence of Cody Vance Jones, 22, of 351 East Barr Road, said the release. Also seized was a set of digital scales, used syringes and marijuana-smoking paraphernalia.
Jones is currently serving a probation sentence for a prior drug conviction. Jones was arrested Dec. 13, and charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was detained at the Beaufort County jail under a $22,000 secured bond.
