Mrs. Mary Frances Hamm Lovett Respass, age 84, a resident of MaryAnna Mobile Estates, Washington, died Thursday evening December 20, 2012 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday December 23, 2012 at the Second Baptist Church in Washington officiated by Rev. Scott Setzer. Royce Hamm, Danny Hamm, Tim Kearney, Mitch Kearney, Tony Hamm and Dale Hamm will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour on Sunday at the Church and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Woodson Furlough located at 113 Tranters Creek Drive, Washington.
Mrs. Respass was born in Greene County on December 31, 1927 to the late Carl Hamm and Bessie Heath Hamm. She graduated from High School in Snow Hill. Mrs. Respass worked in various companies and agencies in clerical positions, retiring from the Social Services Administration. Mrs. Respass was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Washington. On April 18, 1998, she married Ellis Thurman Respass, who survives. Mrs. Respass loved music, singing, reading, but most of all she loved her family and spent her life in service to others.
In addition to her husband; Ellis Thurman Respass of Washington, Mrs. Respass is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Teresa Lovett Furlough and Woodson Ray Furlough, Sr. of Washington, NC, a step daughter; Linda Tyndall and husband Raymond Tyndall of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Dorothy Kearney of Raleigh, NC and Sherry Roberson and husband Larry Roberson of Snow Hill, NC, two brothers, Royce Hamm and his wife Bert Hamm of Snow Hill, NC and Greg Hamm of Snow Hill, NC., grandchildren; Wendy Dixon and husband Neal of Washington, NC, Nicole Gillis and husband Chris of Washington, NC, Woodson Furlough, Jr. and wife Rachael of Greenville, NC and Stephen Respass and wife Nikki of Wilson, NC and great grandchildren; Mary Baylor Dixon, Trent Gillis, Braulton Dixon, Tess Gillis, Tori Gillis, Hannah Furlough, Bethany Furlough and Jordan Furlough.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Respass was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Lee Lovett and two brothers; Ray Hamm and Billy Hamm.
