Verell Small, 60, of 401 Paladin Drive, Greenville, died Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
A funeral will be held at noon Friday at Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Hubert Judon officiating. Burial will follow in Second Zion Grove cemetery.
Mr. Small was born on Sept. 16, 1952, in Washington County. He was the son of Annie Mitchell Small and the late Fred S. Small, Sr. He was a member of Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, UNC-Chapel Hill Alumni and an Adult Day program Coordinator for Roanoke Development Center.
Survivors include his mother: Annie M. Small, Plymouth; brother: Fred S. Small, Jr., Plymouth; two sisters: Teresa McNair, Plymouth and Francine Hines, Jamesville.
A walk-through visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Toodle’s Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. until noon at Second Zion Grove Church on Friday morning. The family is receiving friends at the home of his mother, Mrs. Annie S. Small, 207 Mackeys Road, Plymouth.
