Lona Belle Rascoe Lewis

Mrs. Lona Belle Rascoe Lewis, age 81, a resident of Washington, died Monday, December 31, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Rev. George Daniels. Burial will follow in the Ecklin Cemetery in Blount’s Creek.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Beaufort County on December 20, 1931 to the late George Washington Rascoe and Brittie Ann Hopkins Rascoe. On October 22, 1951 she married Clyde Edgbert Lewis who preceded her in death on April 16, 2006. She was a 1951 graduate of Chocowinity High School and was retired from Samson’s Manufacturing after 40 years of service. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Ephesus Free Will Baptist and attended West End Free Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Orville Lewis and wife Lisa of Roswell, Georgia, two grandsons, Brayden Clyde Lewis, Elliot Porter Lewis, two brothers, Linwood Earl Rascoe and wife Betty of Blounts Creek, George Rascoe, Jr. of Arkansas, three sisters, Gloria Jean Jones and husband Larry of Blounts Creek, Rebecca Furman and husband Donald of Blounts Creek, Brenda Kay Lewis and husband Larry of Washington and two sisters in law, Linda Lewis of Chocowinity and Hilda Hollowell and husband Eldon of Winterville.
She was preceded in death by one brother Edward Odell Rascoe.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
