Mrs. Virginia Ruth James Myers Pfeil, age 71, a resident of 354 Godley Rd., Grimesland, NC, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at Carolina East Medical Center of New Bern.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Hinkle Funeral Home of Davis, WV, officiated by the Rev. Neil Precht. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery in Davis, WV.

Mrs. Pfeil was born in Tucker County, WV on September 19, 1941, daughter of the late Loyal Grant James and the late Ruth Agnes Kennard James. She was a graduate of Bayard High School in Davis, WV and married Raymond Lewis Pfeil, Jr. who survives. Mrs. Pfeil was a homemaker and a member of the Mayflower Society.

Survivors include Mrs. Pfeil’s husband Raymond of the home; a daughter: Hope L. Cuthrell and her husband Levi of Grimesland; a son: Richard “Chip” James Myers and his wife Dawn of Harpers Ferry, WV; a brother Willard Dale James of Michigan; a sister: Rose Ann Davis of Romulus, MI, and three grandchildren: Brandon Myers, Matthew Myers and Gabriel Cuthrell. Mrs. Pfeil was predeceased by three brothers: Jerry Grant James, Jackson William “Jack” James and Robert Michael “Pete” James.

The family will receive friends 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Hinkle Funeral Home of Davis, WV.
