FORT BRAGG –  When members of  Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (EGR) NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team visit Fort Bragg on Jan. 17 for a team building event, it won’t just be handshakes and group photos for the soldiers in attendance – teams of soldiers will compete to see who is the best over-the-wall team wearing U.S. Army camouflage.
About 16 members of the EGR team will visit Fort Bragg to increase team building in advance of the 2013 NASCAR season and the season-opening Daytona 500. Team members will challenge themselves in an obstacle course, eat at a military dining facility and oversee a pit crew challenge of teams comprised of Soldiers.
The winning soldier pit crew will have their unit flag flown at the Daytona 500 in the pit of EGR teams for No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet driver Jamie McMurray and No. 42 Target Chevrolet driver Juan Pablo Montoya. Additionally the soldiers will be special guests of EGR for the Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.
