Sunglasses, loose change, computer tablets, Ipods and binoculars were among the items stolen from vehicles, some of which ended up recovered from “Trade It,” a pre-owned goods retail marketplace in Greenville, according to a press release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
The break-ins took place on Feb. 1 — multiple reports in the area of Chesterfield Drive, Homeplace Road, CBH Lodge Road and Cherry Run Road in Washington. When investigation turned up several items at “Trade it,” warrants were issued for Christian Gage Warner, 17, of Cherry Road, Washington, and Steven Tyler Greene, 18, of Old Bath Highway, Washington, charging them with 11 counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and ten counts of larceny.
On Feb. 7, Warner turned himself in to the sheriff’s office and was taken before Magistrate Jasper Mills, who released him on a $25,000 unsecured bond. According to the sheriff’s office, investigators are working with authorities in South Carolina to have Greene served the warrants. Greene is thought to be visiting his mother there, said Maj. Kenneth Watson, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
