Dorothy Swain Kerin, formerly Dorothy Saleeby, age 88, born in Aurora, NC and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her residence. She was a retired owner and operator of the Southern Pig Barbeque Restaurant in Elizabeth City, NC and the Charcoal House Restaurant in Washington, NC.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy S. White of Bay Minette, AL, Eli N. Saleeby, Jr. of Washington, NC, George K. (Caroline) Saleeby of Fuquay Varina, NC and Virginia S. (Frank) Boyd of Abbeville, SC; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Francis Kerin; son-in-law, Jerry R. White, Sr.; two brothers and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Agatha Catholic Church with the Reverend Jim Morrison and the Reverend Jim Dane officiating. Burial followed in Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, February 11, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Don Robinson, Steven Pryor, Robert D. “Bob” Zarr, Walter Wayne Burt, Danleigh Corbett, Paul Przyborski, Bob Wills, and Dr. Andrew Edger.
