Mr. Donald E. Rice, age 69, a former resident of the Clay Root Community in Ayden, died Friday, March 29, 2013.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Rice was born in Pitt County on September 12, 1943 to the late Austin Clyde Rice and Dora Rouse Rice. He was a farmer and worked with many different farms in Pitt County.
Survivors include one sister, Linda J. Bradshaw of Washington, one brother, James Rice of Ayden, one niece, Melissa Stowe of Washington and one great nephew, Brandon Speight of Vanceboro. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Alice Rice.
