On Friday, Washington police arrested Michael Robb Burrus Ballantyne, 19, of Bonner Street, on 10 felony charges.

The charges include breaking and entering (three counts), larceny after breaking and entering (four counts), breaking and entering  a motor vehicle, safecracking and one charge (from Pitt County) of breaking and entering place of worship.

This arrest was a coordinated effort involving Washington Police Department, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.  The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office served additional charges related to crimes that occurred in the county.

Ballantyne was placed in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $95,000 secured bond pending court appearances.

The investigation continues and additional charges are expected.
