Wonderful experience

To the Editor:
I was privileged to experience an evening filled with praises to our Creator, God, and deep expressions of love in a time when it seems like people are constantly complaining about the least little thing.
On Saturday evening, April 27, a great number of people journeyed to Mt. Calvary UHC on Eighth Street here in our beloved town to be a part of one of the most moving concerts and tribute ever held.
Bishop Samuel Jones Jr., Mother Jones, minister Ada Stallings, Beverly Downing, pastor Paula McCullough, Sister Towanna Rouse, pastor Linda Moore, pastor W. Terry Cobb and others spent several months organizing this wonderful service, “One More Time!”
Yes, in a time when there is so much unrest among people and when they seem never to be satisfied with whatever, this group used its God-given talent and time to say “thank you.” This rewarding event was filled with the spirit of love and most uplifting.
Pastors and church representatives and friends came from near and far as Nassau, Bahamas, to be a part of this great event. The Reunion Choir sang under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Minister Cassandra Stone manned the keyboards, Brother Samuel Jones III played the drums, Brother Steven Jones played bass guitar and Elder Gertrude Minor directed.
My heart was made glad. I will never forget such a profound expression of love. I am grateful to each one who spent the evening with me (I was the honoree).
I Corinthians 13:13 sums up this awesome experience. The NIV records: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love.”
Love is that the world needs most!
