Washington County is currently renovating the Sheriff’s Substation in Creswell located on Old Hwy 64.
Washington County Manager Jerry Rhodes explained reasons for the changes.

“We currently have an ambulance stationed at the Creswell Clinic as back-up for the Tyrrell ambulance in Columbia.  Washington County Hospital has permitted us to use part of the Creswell Clinic facility since last January.  Since the county owns the former Sheriff’s Department substation building in Creswell, we decided to renovate the building for continued use by the Sheriff’s Department and to relocate our back-up ambulance there,” said Rhodes.

Rhodes explained that the new location will provide quicker access to Highway 64 since it is located closer to the Highway 64 and Alligood Road interchange.

“We plan to re-name the building as the “Washington County Public Safety Center – Creswell” facility,” he explained.

The first phase is reconstructing the roof from a flat roof to an A-framed pitch. The second phase of the project will be modifying the inside of the building to make it ADA compliant. The strategic location of the Creswell EMS team will move from the Washington County Health Clinic to this newly renovated building in early July 2013.
