On Saturday June 1st the Tyrrell County 911 center received a call about a
black bear turing over trash cans and damaging a vehicle on Old
U.S.64.Tyrrell County Sheriff Darryl Liverman responded and found evidence
that a bear had turned trash cans over and had taken a wheelcover off a car
parked at the residence and broken the wheelcover. On Sunday June2sd another
call was received at the same residence that a black bear had broken a
window on a car. Tyrrell County Sheriff Darryl Liverman responded and found
that the drivers side front window had been broken by a bear on a vehicle
belonging to the Town of Nags Head pictured in the photographs. The
photographs show the bear prints on the side of the car and the window
broken. N. C. Wildlife Officials were contacted and stated that the bear was
probably looking for food. Citizens are urged not to put food in trashcans
at this time of the year.
