Martha Janes Hodges Buck

GRIMESLAND — Mrs. Martha Jane Hodges Buck went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2013.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 am in the Mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Buck, a native and lifelong resident of Pitt County, was a graduate of Grimesland High School.  She worked with the Washington Garment Factory for over 20 years and later with Empire Brush retiring in 1991.  She loved doing ceramics and porcelain dolls and ran Jane’s Ceramic Shop until her health failed in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edmund Buck in 2006; grandson, Kevin Buck; sisters, Mary Hodges Summerlin and Ann Hodges Hemby; and brothers, Adrian “John” Hodges, Cary “Bo” Hodges and Bert Hodges.

She is survived by her children, Edmund Jerry Buck and wife, Deb, of Bethel, Major Albritton Buck and wife, Joyce, of Grimesland, Phyllis Buck Barr and husband, Buddy Price, of Washington, Cathy Buck Boyd and husband, Michael, of Washington, and Lynn Buck Windham and husband, Jim, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren, Keith Buck, Mark Barr, Stacy Barr, Mike Boyd, Chad Boyd, Matthew Boyd, Christopher Buck, Kelly Buck and Claire Buck; six great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; sister, Barbara Hodges Wingate, of Ayden; and brother, Mack Preston Hodges, of Washington.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
