Plans are in the works for the annual Tiny Art Show at River Walk Gallery and Arts Center. The gallery is seeking entries for the upcoming show.
The show gets its name from the size of the entries. The artwork may be no larger than 5 inches by 7 inches by 4 inches.
“This show will be the same as last year,” said Brenda Haislet, an artist and organizer of the event. “There is no entry fee, but there will be a 40-percent commission on any art sold.”
Gallery members anticipate the exhibit would be anything but tiny. There are no limits to the number of submissions each artist enters. The exhibit accepts entries of any medium.
The show is open to artists outside Beaufort County.
Thirty artists contributed about 120 pieces to last year’s exhibit. The artwork came from artists of all ages and levels of ability.
Haislet said the gallery exhibited several mediums at last year’s show. The list included photography, jewelry, books, pottery and quilts.
Work will be accepted July 29 to July 31 at the gallery.
The exhibit opens Aug. 1 and runs throughout the month. Patrons will have the opportunity to vote for the viewers’ choice award at the Aug. 8 ArtWalk in downtown Washington.
River Walk Gallery and Arts Center is located at 139 W. Main St. in downtown Washington. For more information, call 974-0400.
