Let freedom ring

Happy birthday, United States of America!
Millions and millions of our fellow citizens celebrate today as the birth of a nation founded on liberty, freedom and the God-given rights of men to live lives of liberty and freedom. We also celebrate July 4 as the day we declared our independence from England.
But did you know Englishmen were instrumental in the founding of our nation? Think about it. That’s right, Englishmen helped create the good, ol’ USA.
There was no United States of America until those men helped form the USA by writing and signing the Declaration of Independence. And there’s a reason our fight for independence is referred to as the Revolutionary War. The significance of the Fourth of July is that it reminds us that the Declaration of Independence is the most revolutionary political declaration in history. The Declaration of Independence is part of the trinity that also includes the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Without those three documents, it’s a good bet that Americans would not be celebrating another Fourth of July 237 years after that fateful July 4 in 1776.
And as the Minutemen fought and died for our independence in the Revolutionary War, we cannot forget that American men and women around the world are protecting and preserving our freedom and our God-given rights. Some are giving their lives to keep alive that freedom and those rights so eloquently detailed in the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Those documents live because millions of Americans exercise the freedom and rights those documents guarantee. As we’ve said before on this page, when that freedom and those rights are no longer protected and preserved so they can be exercised, we will have done a great disservice to the revolutionary Englishmen who became the first Americans.
