Mrs. Stewart Bennett, formerly of Aurora, NC, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at home in Merritt Island, FL.

A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Aurora United Methodist Church, Main St., Aurora. The Rev. John Yount will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 pm at the Fellowship Hall, prior to the service at 5 pm. 

Mrs. Bennett was born in Raleigh, NC, on February 15, 1925, daughter of the late Charles Stewart Dixon, Jr. and Eudora Headley Hatch Dixon.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ottis C. Bennett, son Dail S. Bennett and wife Cheryl, of Merritt Island, FL, and grandson Peter C. Bennett, of Cocoa, FL. She is also survived by several cousins.

Stewart Bennett was retired as a seamstress at Sagner Sewing, New Bern, NC. She enjoyed fishing, riding, cross stitch, ceramics, basket weaving and traveling.
