On Aug. 2, 2013, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and the Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant at 670 Pine Street in Belhaven.  Investigators and K-9 Elza, the unit’s drug detection dog, conducted a search of the residence and found 960 grams of marijuana known as “Kine Bud” with an estimated street value of $19,200, 2.6 grams of crack cocaine, digital scales, plastic bags used for repackaging marijuana, a Clorox hidden container, a Sprite can hidden container and numerous cell phones that were used to facilitate drug activity.

Investigators arrested Delray Jennette, 39, Dexter Dills, 40, and James Taylor, 20, all of 670 Pine Street in Belhaven. Jennette was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana within 1000 feet of a childcare facility, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Jennette’s bond was set at $15,000, secured. Dills was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dills’ bond was set at $750, secured.  Taylor was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Taylor’s bond was set at $10,000, secured.
