Edward “Fizz Ed” Denny Jr.

Mr. Edwin Howard “Fizz Ed” Denny, Jr., age 63, a resident of 101 Hattie Lane, Washington, NC died Friday August 9, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.
A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday August 15, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor David Linton.
Mr. Denny was born in Duplin County on August 8, 1950 son of the late Edwin Howard Denny and the late Loyce Grey Williams Denny. He was a 1968 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He earned his bachelors degree in environmental health & safety from East Carolina University and an associates degree in turf management from Wayne Community College. Mr. Denny was a retired sales rep. with Zeneca Ag., formerly ICI America. Following retirement he became owner-operator of Fizz Ed’s restaurant of Washington.
Survivors include three sons: Martin Garrett Denny, Edwin Austin Denny and Michael Scott Denny all of Chocowinity; a soul mate, companion and best fiend: Tammie Raye Johnson of Washington; the mother of his children: Cheryl S. Denny of Chocowinity; four grandchildren: Christopher Garrett Denny, Landon Blake Denny, Tyler Neal Denny and Hayden Leigh Denny; a step daughter: Olivia Arriaga, her husband Vinny and their children: Blake and Vincent all of Fayetteville; a brother Bart Craft of Austin, TX and a sister: Marilyn D. Thomas of Beulaville. Mr. Denny was predeceased by his parents and a sister Beverly Corley.
The family will receive friends following the service Thursday until 8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will also receive friends at Mr. Denny’s Home, and his three children will receive friends at 3207 Possum Track Road, Chocowinity, NC.
