The Historic Albemarle Tour of Northeastern North Carolina visited downtown Columbia on July 23 and held a meeting at the Old Salt Oyster Bar.
Kristen Kinney explained why the Historic Albemarle Tour wanted to come to Columbia.

“HAT members meet every two months and we were invited to hold our meeting there by Megan Jones manager of the Brickhouse Inn Bed Breakfast in Columbia. She is also a Historic Albemarle Tour member,” said Kinney.

Some of the representatives of HAT sites were: Buster Nunemaker NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Bill Edwards Roanoke Island Festival Park, Lucia Peel Haughton Hall, Andrea Stilley Aurora Fossil Museum, Joyce and Carl Bornfriend Frisco Native Museum, Karen Hayes Somerset Place, Jenn Arnold Historic Washington,Kim McCray Port O’ Plymouth Museum, Lynette Mallery Inn at Gray’s Landing B&B in Barney Conway Historic Williamston, Donna Stewart Camden Co. and Dismal Swamp Canal, Victoria Newcombe Historic Murfreesboro, Nancy Nicholls and Karen Ipock Historic Edenton, Lynn Lewis Historic Washington, Marlene True Pocosin Arts, and Kristen Kinney HAT administrative coordinator.

 

“We will be happy to come again should we be invited and decide to go. We prefer spreading our meetings out amongst the sites so it may not be for awhile, but HAT would certainly be happy to return,” said Kinney.
