Shelby Anne Barber and Andrew Glenn Thompson were united in marriage at 6:00 P.M. on
Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the oceanfront home of Mrs. Richard Staunch in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adams Barber of Washington.  She is the granddaughter of Mrs. James Demetrius Constantine of New Bern, the late James Demetrius Constantine and Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Barber of Bermuda Run.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Randall Myers Thompson of Leasburg.  He is the grandson of Mr. Glenn Solomon Cruise, and the late Ethel Brogden Cruise of Durham and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Leath Thompson of Roxboro.

The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Reverend James Edwin Martin III.  Wedding music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bales.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory formal gown.  She wore a mantilla of Brussels lace that belonged to her mother.  She carried a bouquet of sunflowers and daisies.

Ashley Barber Gaylord of Raleigh, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor.  Flower girl was Gardner Hazel Gaylord, niece of the bride.

Randall Myers Thompson served his son as best man.  Jacob Adams Gastmeyer, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer.

Mrs. Thompson Dumont Litchfield, Jr. and Mrs. Joseph Exum Taylor served as mistresses of
ceremony.

Following the ceremony, a beachside reception was hosted by the parents of the bride at the home of Mrs. Richard Staunch.

Prior to the wedding, an after-rehearsal dinner hosted by the parents of the groom was held at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast.

On August 10th a “Babes on the Beach” shower was hosted by Ashley Barber Gaylord, sister of the bride.

On July 21st a Bachelorette Weekend was hosted by several friends of the bride at Atlantic Beach.

On the morning after the wedding the bride’s
parents hosted a brunch around the pool at Dunescape Villas.

The bride graduated from Peace College.  She is currently employed at Martin Marietta Materials in Raleigh.

The bridegroom graduated from North Carolina State University.  He is the owner of Waypoint Builders.

The couple will reside in Raleigh.
