Mildred E. Cayton

Mrs. Mildred Elaine Cayton, age 91, a resident of the Clara Manor Rest Home, Washington, N.C., died Sunday June 12, 2011.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday June 16, 2011 at Core Point Free Will Baptist Church in Blounts Creek officiated by Dr. Timothy Webber.

Mrs. Cayton was born in Beaufort County on October 2, 1919 daughter of the late Frank Duffy Cayton and the late Fannie Thomas Martin Cayton.

She was a homemaker and a member of Core Point Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include nieces and nephews: Tommy Hale and his wife Marilyn, Teressa Jane C. Price and her husband Dow, Linda Lee C. Jones and her husband Max, Jr., Diane C. Ruff and her husband John, Carol W. Kinnion and her husband Jesse, Russell Womble and his wife Christine and Janice W. Barrow and her husband Doug. Mrs. Cayton was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Elsie C. Womble and a brother: Thomas Cayton.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Beaufort County Humane Society, P.O. Box 8, Washington, NC 27889.
