The Christmas Choir of Chocowinity United Methodist Church will present its annual Christmas musical tonight at 7 p.m. with an encore performance Sunday at 3 p.m.
“Festival of Carols” will include popular songs from “Sing Gloria” like “Silent Night,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” and “Sweet Little Jesus Boy.”
The musical will also feature “Christmas in Heaven,” “Peace on Earth” and “Wise Men Still Seek Him.”
Chocowinity UMC’s June Arnold said the show’s impact would be the result of amazing visual aids, song lyrics by David Hamilton and a narrative the choir added.
“New song lyrics, ‘It’s the spirit of the season. You can feel it in the air,’ combine with original narration and compelling visuals to bring a Christmas blessing for listeners,” Arnold said.
The church’s youth choir will perform, too.
“These young singers are developing their talents for the glory of God in the churches of the future,” Arnold said.
The audience will be invited to join in on a finale of “Receive His Son.”
