Polly Hodges Hudson Lewis, age 77, a resident of River Trace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of Robersonville Rd.,Washington, NC passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014. There will be a graveside celebration of her life 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Phillip Lewis. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E, Washington, NC and other times at the home of Jenny and Steve Hudson, 127 Hillingdale Dr., Washington, NC.

Ms. Lewis was born March 13, 1935 in Beaufort County, daughter of the late Lonnie and Lou Taylor Hodges. Polly was a homemaker.

Ms. Lewis is survived by her daughters, Brenda Hudson Mincey of Chocowinity, NC, and Cheryl Denise Sykes of Washington, NC; her sons, Donnie Lee Hudson, Joey Earl Hudson, William Rodney Hudson and Craig Steven Hudson, all of Washington; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Dean Hudson and husband Joseph L. Hudson.

The family would like to offer special thanks to nurse June at River Trace.
