Merchant donations

DSS DONATION: South Market Antiques owner Pat Lewis and Mr. Biggs and Little Shoppes owners, Jayne Meisell and Rebecca Clark (not pictured), presented a check in January to Lori Legget (middle) with the Beaufort County Department of Social Services. The check represented sales from their Charity Book Store. The Department of Social Services has legal responsibility for 24 disabled adults ranging in age from 24 to 92. These adults have no family or friends able or willing to support them. The funds will be used to provide basic needs such as hygiene products and daily necessities. Donations of books and money will be happily accepted Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Charity Book Store is located at 127 W. Main Street, Washington.
