Washington wrestling heads to regionals

Head Coach Daniel Riggs and 12 of Washington’s finest wrestlers are headed to Farmville Central High School on Friday and Saturday to compete in the regional round of the playoffs.

On Friday, wrestlers are required to arrive at 4:30 p.m. for weigh-ins with the tournament scheduled to kick-off at 6 p.m. Wrestlers are set to weigh-in at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday with the first consolation round beginning at 9 a.m.

After fail to qualify for the dual team state championships, the Pam Pack could still be represented among the individual ranks with a solid showing this weekend.

The top-four wrestlers in each weight class will compete at the individual state tournament, which will be held in the Greensboro Coliseum from Feb. 20-22.
