GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina track and field program will head to Winston Salem, N.C., to participate in the JDL Fast Track Invitational beginning today and concluding Saturday, February 15.

This weekend’s meet will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston Salem, N.C., and is one of the premier indoor track and field facilities in the southeast. The facility opened in 2012 and includes a 200-meter oval track. The field event areas include two pole vault runways, two long and triple jump runways, one high jump area, and one throws area. The facility also includes a 100-meter warm-up track, a training room, and hospitality suites.

The Pirates will go up against some of the top track and field squads in the southeast as the JDL Fast Track Invitational will feature North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest and Charlotte, in addition to many more.

East Carolina has seen plenty of success this season as it has rewritten the record book by setting seven new school records this year. Additionally, numerous individual Pirates have registered new personal and lifetime best for themselves as the squad continues to improve with each meet.

“We have two more opportunities to get ready for the Conference USA Indoor Championships, this weekend and next weekend at North Carolina,” Head Coach Curt Kraft said. “The goal for the next two weekends is to continue to improve and stay healthy. We have had a great season up to this point, but we still have a lot of work to do to get where we want and need to be.”
