Durward Carl Brown Jr.

Durward Carl Brown Jr. 74, of 1292 Arthur Modlin Road, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Vidant Medical Center.

Mr. Brown was born in Martin County on Dec. 22, 1939, to the late Durward Carl and Faye Hardison Brown Sr. Mr. Brown work at Weyerhaeuser, and attended Jamesville Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Overstreet Brown and sister, Betty Sue Steiner.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Jamesville Christian Church with Rev. Doug Stockes officiating. Burial will follow at Jamesville Cemetery.

Survivors a daughter, Rene Brown Perry and husband Kevin; brother, Larry Brown and wife Ruth of Jamesville; sister, Theresa Modlin and husband Ken; grandchildren, Coleman and Lawson Perry.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening at Jamesville Christian Church from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and other times from the home. Memorial gifts may be given to the Jamesville Fire and Rescue at 110 Washington St. Jamesville, NC 27846.
