HILDA SPENCER | CONTRIBUTED NEW INDUCTEES: Mattamuskeet Early College High School's Junior Beta Club held its 2014-2015 induction ceremony at 7 p.m. Feb. 18. There were 14 new members inducted into the club. The National Beta Club is the largest independent, nonprofit, educational youth organization in America. Students are equipped for leadership and awarded national recognition for their high academic achievement. Thomas Midgette, dean of student support services, gave congratulatory remarks to the inductees. Inductees Ashley Garcia-Cerino, John A. Cahoon, Riley Gibbs, Jose Guzman-Sanchez, Emily Harris, Jackson Harris, Kara Marshall, Sarah Reams, Ashley Spencer, Samuel Stewart, Starlyn Swain, Ashanti Wilkins, Chase Williford (all sixth-graders) and Haley Reynolds (seventh grade).
